Horse Heaven is owned and operated by John & Gaye Harvey, who have their horses competing on the race track, dressage and showjumping arena, eventing courses as well as pony club. John & Gaye have experience with all types of horses, with all sorts of temperaments, and devote all their time to their passion.
Croyden Park, or Horse Heaven as it is called by our residents, is situated on the Granite Belt, known for its cool climate, fresh mountain air and absence of biting insects that bother horses in other areas. With over 300 acres of gently undulating country, we offer a very relaxing and peaceful retreat for horses who need a break from their strenuous lives.

We also have a large range of facilities allowing us to offer:
We are a boutique spelling complex, and we treat your horses as individuals giving them the utmost care and attention. We understand that your horse has worked hard and needs to relax and recoup its resources before starting the next season. Our broad range of facilities allows us to stable your horse suited to its preferences, by choosing from small yards all the way up to large open paddocks, you can be sure that your horse will be treated as special in a calm, relaxed way by people who have devoted their lives to horse welfare. |

What a great
Easter.
We had a great time at the NFW International 3 day event at
Warwick. The weather was perfect, the grounds a picture and the
organisation of the event the most professional we have seen.
Congratulations to all involved - it was a credit to you.
Sad and
Happy news
Croyden Park Zaha was sold to George Sheridan on the
weekend. It will be really sad to see him leave Qld but we are really
happy that he has gone to such a good home.
Katie Weatherill has
been campaigning him for the last 12 months and has done an exceptional
job. Katie has taken him from being a silly, overgrown, immature horse
to a horse with such a presence that everyone notices him wherever he
is. Katie felt that he had the potential to rise up the competition
ladder a lot more than she was capable of taking him and it was a very
heart wrenching decision for her to let him go. Katie and her family
had completely fallen in love with him but realised that he was becoming
far to strong for Katie to compete with him in the higher levels.
Katie, we thank you with all our heart for the great job you have done
with him - he is a real credit to you. One day I hope you will
be able to stand on the side line and watch him thrash his
competition and know in your heart, as we will
that you taught him well.
Thanks Katie and Good Luck
George with our magnificent Zee
Man

Why do
people who own horses and ring me with agistment enquiries think that I
am soooo stupid. Please do not think that you can pay two months
agistment and then disappear thinking that your horses will stay here
for eternity. I have bills to pay too, so please don't think you can
just dump your horses on our place. You cruel it for all the horse
lovers/owners who genuinely want the perfect place to agist their
horses and pay the agreed agistment fee. All the horses here are
treated with respect and kindness and I expect the
same
30/11/11
How time flies - it
will be the end of 2011 before we know it. Most of the competitive
horses are out for their end of year spell before getting ready for
the 2012 show season so Croyden Park is looking a bit
empty. We have had some great foals this year who are
growing well and give us so much joy watching them romping around the
paddock or lying around in the sun.

Regardy Gold - a beautiful
Warmblood/thoroughbred 2yr old filly by Regardless (Regardez Moi) from
Geisha Gold (Iglesia) has just been broken in and has not put a foot
wrong. She had her first ride this morning and moves
beautifully. Her education only started 6 days ago and she has
shown us a lot of potential. Well done Allan and
Clive.
"Look At Me" another Regardless filly is
starting her education today - we look forward to her
progress
27/7/11 Croyden Park Cardiac Express, Reserve
Champion Brisbane Show 2009 as a yearling did not like racing so is now
being retrained for sale. Check out his photos under Horses For
Sale
26/7/11
I have just uploaded todays photos of Croyden
Park General and Croyden Park Carol under Horses for Sale. Please
don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in
either.

Congratulations Clive on your successful 2*
comp at Warwick - we had no doubt Croyden Park Dare Too (Darren) could do it,
did we?
Croyden Park General behaved like a veteran -amazing that it
was his first outing - this week he just stood still while he was
clipped - this horse is going to be a star. Next competition for
him will be at Burpengary this weekend so he will be worth a
look.
Burpengary ODE this weekend and Clive will be extremely
busy riding 4 horses - Croyden Park Dare Too 1*, Banyula Brave and
Croyden Park Merlin in Jnr Prelim and Croyden Park General having fun
in the Pre Intro. Good Luck to
all.
20/5/11 Wonderful news. Clive Hicks has been
invited to join the Queensland Jnr Eventing Squad - Well done Clive
it's good to see that all your hard work has been
recognised
You can watch Clive compete in his first 2* event this
weekend at Warwick ODE - we wish him well
Clive will also be
riding Croyden Park Megs, Croyden Park Merlin and Croyden Park
General in various levels - no doubt Clive will be looking forward
to a good sleep on Sunday. We wish him luck
Our
exciting new prospect Croyden Park General will be having his first
outing - he has a wonderful personality and is so calm and
willing we just hope he maintains the same in the competition
arena
Kate Weatherill has taken on our special big
boy, Croyden Park Zaha while her horse recovers from an
injury. I hope you have fun with him Kate and that he behaves
himself. Kate is competing him for the first time this
weekend.
We had a wonderful day at the Stanthorpe Races
a couple of weeks ago. We always have a win at Stanthorpe and
were not disappointed when Forest Redgum won the 1000m race
convincingly beating his opponents by over 3
lengths. We now have to line up in October and do the
same!!!!!!
Good Luck to everyone competing at Warwick
this weekend - I hope you have a great
time
11/4/11 Since writing we have successfully
competed at Figtree Pocket ODE - Croyden Park Dare Too (Darren)
came 4th in 1* Croyden Park Megs lost a shoe on the cross
country course so Clive made the right decision to slow her
down so that she didn't hurt herself but I was still
happy with her result - her dressage is really coming on
which will really add to her presence as her jumping is already
on track, Banyula Brave (Benny) who stood in at the last moment
one of Clive's horses that had to be scratched also showed
everyone that he knew what he was there for and had done it
sooooo many times before - he is just such a
personality.
Kasey Charlton is riding Croyden Park Evie and
is still getting used to her - I have every confidence that
Kasey and Evie will form a bond but at the moment it
is a project in progress and time will
tell.
2/4/11
After a stint in hospital I am now on the
way to recovery - thank goodness - I apoligise to all those
whose who have sent enquiries about horses and not received a
reply, I am gradually getting in contact so thank you for
your patience
We have been very busy with the shows
over the past couple of months and I am very pleased how all my
horses have gone in the show jumping
This weekend is
the first ODE of the season which is very exciting and we
have number of horses competing at Fig Tree Pocket - I
shall give you a full report in a couple of days. If
you are interested in seeing the Croyden Park horses perform
head on down to Figtree tomorrow and see them go through
their paces, just look for the Croyden Park truck parked
new the ladies amenities block and make yourself known
to John, Tina or Clive who will introduce you to
them.
25/02/11
Last weekend was very successful at
Killarney Show. Our old favourites Benny and Decibels came
out again and thoroughly enjoyed their day out
showjumping, Decibels will make someone a fantastic
schoolmaster and he just loves it. Croyden Park Ellie
came 3rd in the 1 mtre class and this is only her 3rd time out
competing, this is the horse for someone who wants to get
serious about showjumping. Croyden Park Zaha is the new up and
coming star - he is so cool just standing at the truck all
day and then doing his showjumping just being unlucky in
the 90cm - this guy turns heads everytime he goes out he
is so majestic.
Thanks Clive for training and
competing them so well and congratulations to Clive
Hicks for being awarded the well deserved Champion
Showjumper of the Show.
Not only were we hearing about Croyden Park horses in
the showjumping ring but we were very proud to hear they did so well in
the other rings as well. Congratulations to all riders
competing on Croyden Park horses.
This weekend we have taken 6
horses to Millmerran Show for Showjumping so look forward to
their successful participation and another satisfying
weekend.
I'll keep you
posted
5/02/2011 We had a great day
at Stanthorpe Show taking out the first 4 places in the 80cm
showjumping. All horses jumped well over some difficult
courses. First timer Croyden Park Ellie handled it like a trouper
and jump !!!! anyone serious about wanting a horse that can jump and
jump well must consider her, she has a lot of ability and will go
far.
Yesterday was Allora Show and again we
competed in the showjumping taking along, Banyula Brave (still jumping
extremely well- no more than 1 rail down), Croyden Park Decibels
(back to competing successfully. This horse would make a wonderful
school master for someone up to 80cm), Croyden Park Megs ( had 2
offers to buy her but sorry she has already been sold - jumped
like a pro), Croyden Park Ellie (jumped 90cm and 1mtre with only one
rail down - she is just one hell of a pocket rocket) and
our gorgeous Croyden Park Tiny who had his first outing and
didn't disgrace us - for the people who know him when he was
racing as "Son of Zaha" he is on the market now and is
catching as much attention on the competition trail as he
did on the race track - if someone wants a quiet gentle giant
who has the ability to go a long way in any discipline this is
the horse
25/1/11
Getting ready to
(hopefully) kick ass at Stanthorpe Show this Friday and Saturday
with Croyden Park Decibels, Croyden Park Dare Too, Croyden Park
Ellie, Banyula Brave (yes, still going strong) and Croyden Park
Megs. Wish us luck for the first show of the
season
14/1/2011
We would like to offer help to
anyone affected by the floods. We have plenty of room and feed
for your horses while you repair fences etc and get back to
some sort of normality. We are situated on the Granite Belt
about 40klms south of Warwick. Let us know if we
can help you in any way Phone Gaye 0419 728 544 or email

Just to let
everyone know that Felicity Cribb no longer works here at Croyden
Park
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO
EVERYONE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT WISHING YOU ALL A SUCCESSFUL
2011
December 2010
Welcome Clive Hicks to our team
at Croyden Park. Clive has just finished year 12 and we
wasted no time in getting him into the big wide world of the working
person.
Clive is currently eventing Croyden Park Dare Too
(Darren) who is currently the QISEA Queensland 1* Eventing Champion - this
is a great combination and we look forward to his winning streak
continuing in 2011.
All our foals have now been born so
thank goodness I can now catch up on lost sleep. We have a
tremendous crop this season, all fillies bar two, and are enjoying
watching them grow.
All the mares have now been joined to some
fantastic stallions for the next crop. Stallions chosen for
this herd include Mail Train, Hidden Dragon, Outback Prince, Zaha,
Natural Destiny, Rapid Man, Tycoon Ruler and Masked
Assassin.
This year has just flown by - I'm sure I've
missed a couple of months somewhere. I hope everyone has a safe,
enjoyable festive season and a successful 2011.
October
2010
Dean has decided to further his horizons and his
career with horses and has taken a job down in Beaudesert.
We wish him all the best and hope all his dreams come true.
Thank You Dean for all your efforts over the past 3 Years -
we shall miss you.
Foaling has been very traumatic
this month with every mare being late, heaps of rain and lots of
interrupted sleep. However, we only have two more foals to
be born and everyone is well. It is great to see all the
mares and foals enjoying the green pasture and sunshine of the
past few days.
We have had a lot of success on the
racetrack this month which helps with mood and
money.
SILVERBERG won at the Sunshine Coast on her first
run - not bad for a mare with part of her pedal bone missing -
she is really showing a love of racing and we look forward to
an exciting future with her.
FOREST REDGUM is a consistant
prize winner bringing home a first, 2 seconds and a third in
October - he always gives his all and is a very honest
horse
After disappointing us with his
first couple of runs, SON OF
ZAHA, came through with a third at Beaudesert. It surprised us
no end as it was only 1200 mtres and he is very hard to get a
burst of speed out of - usually he runs over 2000 mtres -
however he was on his home track and maybe looking forward
to getting home quickly for his dinner
ANNIE ROCKS is
another horse going well and enjoying it. She came home
with two seconds in October, and is a real little pocket rocket
who hopefully will have the joy of coming first very
soon.
Thank you Mark - all our horses are relaxed and happy
and enjoying their work. We look forward to more good results
next month.
Congratulations Clive and Croyden Park
Dare Too (Darren) for their terrific effort at the
Interschool Nationals in Sydney. We were very proud of
both of you gaining 6th place in the eventing
section.
Congratulations also go to Kasey and Croyden Park Ace
who gained 12th place in the showjumping section. Well done - we
look forward to your progress next year.
Don't forget
that we are trying to decrease our horse numbers and have a
number of horses for sale at very reasonable prices. If
you are interested just email or phone
me.
August/September 2010
Good
Luck to Croyden Park Dare Too and Clive Hicks and Croyden Park Cool Ace and
Kasey Charlton who are competing in the Queensland Interschool National
Team, Sydney 21-24th September 2010. We are so proud of you
both.
We have decided to retire Astroman after only 4 races
because he just doesn't like the racing game. He is a very good
looking, sound, good natured boy who will make someone a great
partner. Just give me a call if you are
interested.
1st September saw the arrival of Spring and our
first foal for the season - a gorgeous black boy by Mail
Train from Sparkling Lass - 2 weeks early but perfect - he is
looking forward to having some playmates soon.
We have
heaps of rain and some warm days so even though the ground is
squishy it is good to see the grass growing and everything
green again
July 2010
Just thought I
would let everyone know that we are downsizing our horse numbers,
therefore there are quite a number of horses being sold for a very
reasonable amount.
The horses we have for sale
cover the whole spectrum:- Thoroughbreds off the
track Weanlings (warmblood cross) Competition horses -
professionally trained in all three Olympic
disciplines Thoroughbred Brood Mares Young Thoroughbreds
ready to race
There are too many to feature independantly
on the web site - the best approach would be to email or phone
me with your
requirements. gaye@horse-heaven.com.au Phone (07) 4685 2512 ,

July
2010
Congratulations to Clive HIcks and Croyden Park Dare
Too -State QISEA Eventing Champion 2010. These pair are a
great team and both have tons of ability. We will watch with
excitement when they compete for Queensland in
September.
I have just come back from 3 weeks in the Kimberleys
- mainly exploring by water which was fantastic. It was very hard
to return to this cold weather but oh well !!!!!!
We have
decided to downsize the number of horses that we have here on
Croyden Park so if you are looking for a horse to complete your
family now is the time to contact
me
28th April 2010
This has
been a very busy month with horses going every which way racing
and eventing
Last weekend we had horses racing at
Chinchilla, Toowoomba, Beaudesert and Gold Coast so that was a lot of
miles clocked up
Mada had a terrific run at the Gold Coast
on Monday (Anzac Day) coming 3rd in a very impressive field -
not once was he mentioned in despatches before the race but
they were sure talking about him afterwards. He loves
racing and shows it coming into the mounting yard very proud
and so he should be
Our eventers competed at Warwick Show
showjumping and then at Warwick CIC 3 Day Event and Mt Gravatt
ODE so have been very busy.
All performed well with
Feldale Guest coming 2nd in Prelim and Croyden Park Merlin 5th in
Pre Novice at the Easter CIC 3 Day Event
Croyden Park
Merlin came 2nd in the 90cm at Warwick Show
Although we
didn't take out any of the top places at Mt Gravatt we were
very happy with how all the horses performed
I'd like to
give a big vote of thanks to Clare Fowler and all the
helpers at Mt Gravatt for a fantastic
weekend
22nd March 2010
Our
showjumping on the show circuit has finished and the eventing season
has started
We competed five Croyden Park horses at
Figtree Pocket on the weekend and all competed well.
Congratulations to Dean on Croyden Park Merlin who came
1st in Prelim and Croyden Park Evie who came 3rd in
Intro
We are now looking forward to Warwick at
Easter
See you There
Gaye
10th February
2010
The show circuit has started and I am so proud of all
our young horses that are competing - we have already been to
Stanthorpe and Allora Shows with Killarney the weekend after
next.
Most of the horses that are competing are first timers
in the competition arena and have coped with all the stresses
like ferris wheels, loud speakers etc like veterans. Horses
that will be jumping at Killarney are Croyden Park Merlin,
Croyden Park Dulux, Croyden Park Evie, Croyden Park Piquance,
Croyden Park PD and Croyden Park Meg. If you are looking to
purchase a horse and want to see how it competes Killarney is the
next showjumping event.
Watch out for Clive Hicks jumping
Croyden Park Dare Too (Darren) - he is outstanding and jumping
1.25 metres and with ease. He is an outstanding looking
horse as well - a real presence in the ring. Darren
is leased to Clive till the end of the 2010 season and will
be competing in ODE events as well as showjumping and
interschool comps. If you want an outstanding horse,
this is the one, he will be for sale at the end of
2010.
Another horse to watch is Croyden Park Lady.
She was bought by Julia Tanner last year and they have
bonded so well that Julia is getting more out of Lady than she
showed us here during training.
January
2010
Happy New Year - I hope everyone had a great
holiday period and are now busy preparing for the start of the
competitions for 2010. We are busy preparing horses for
Toowoomba Showjumping and Stanthorpe Show which are coming up within
the next couple of weeks. We have some very talented
youngsters competing this year and look forward to their
performances Details will be posted on the horses for sale
section within the next few weeks Good Luck
everyone Cheers Gaye |
